Day 12- Paris and Prayers for Charlevoix

TRAVEL DAY

Today was another travel day. We spent the morning and some of the afternoon in Dinan. We went out and got some croissants for breakfast and a baguette. Tomorrow we have big plans!!!

 Today... we toured, shopped, relaxed, and snacked.

We went out exploring the city. Now that we are pretty comfortable here, we went out without a map and just started looking!

 I wanted to find a real Breton Cake and a Kouign Amman that knocked my socks off!!!

 Couldn't find either, but did find a Breton cake that was prepackaged but looked pretty decent.

Fresh baked is necessary... but this one wasn't bad.

 It was good. A nice snack, but not as delicious as ours that are baked fresh. We did find what is apparently the best patisserie in town! They had a line down the block, so being the junkies we are, we HAD to join the line! It was worth it! A top notch baguette and a top 3 croissant. 

We also had the best quiche of the trip and a pretty darn good Tarte Citron!

Yes, it was a carb day!! LOL. We took the train back to Paris, it was 2 hours late getting in! We are exhausted! 

We got to our hotel to find out that Johans was burning!

 We live 2 doors down from there so we are pretty nervous about what we will come home to! I'm sure there will be some smoke smell, let's hope that's it!!! Charlevoix is our home! When Charlevoix hurts we hurt!

 We will be saying a prayer for Johans and for the Clothing Company and for every neighbor who is affected! If anyone has updates, please keep us posted. 

On a lighter note, we are staying in the same hotel here in Paris that we stayed in at the beginning. They had a bottle of champagne for us the first time. When we came back this time it felt like home! We got up to our room, it's a different one this time, and they put rose petals on our bed that spelled "Love" and left us a wonderful letter and a box of chocolates.

 If you ever come to Paris, I can't recommend the Hotel Verneuil high enough! It's a wonderful place and the people who run it are the best! Its a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location in St Germain Des Pres. Look it up! Its very highly rated on TripAdvisor!!
