Day 4: Another sleepless night, but we keep on rocking

Day 4 started very similar to Day 3, a late start because of lack of sleep but we're troopers, we kept on trucking. We had a really fantastic day today!  Today was Emily's day to choose what to do.  So, we went to the Opera Garnier which is where the play Phantom of the Opera took place. It was truly awesome!  it would be great for anyone, but for true lovers of the play it was magical!  We spent a lot of time in there, I think it might've been Emily's favorite place ever!!  She didn't want to leave!  The Chagall ceiling was the true highlight for me, even though the actual theater was closed because they were rehearsing for a ballet. We still got to see it through a curtain and Emily, using an outstretched arm got that corner of it. But the building itself is really incredible. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone!  Then we just kept going!  We got ourselves a little picnic and took it to the Place Des Vosges which is the oldest public park in Europe. We had a great picnic in a beautiful location very close to our Home and we took the short walk back. We rested for about 15 minutes and then off to Montmartre. We're really digging the metro!  We feel like we're really pros now!  We got all the way there, took the Funicular up to Sacré Coeur and went on a little walking tour of Montmartre. It was really interesting we saw all the bohemians and lots of up and coming artists. We finished the tour and had a reservation at a very highly recommended restaurant.  It was a tiny place with outstanding food, only eight tables. Emily picked the better meal again. She had a chicken dish with a macaroni gratin. I had a steak with foie gras sauce both were really fantastic but Emily's was better. For dessert Emily got a tiramisu with speculoos and I got Pain Perdue, or as we call it in America...French toast but it was unlike any French toast I've ever had with an amazing caramel sauce. The best dessert so far and possibly one of the top three desserts I've ever had in Europe, amazing!  The. we went to go inside The church Sacré Coeur. It's a truly awe inspiring church!  It's huge but very different from the other churches you see in France with its Byzantine style and mosaics and it feels like a real working church with people praying all around you. I like that we were there during mass. That always adds to the ambience. We took the Funicular ride down and took a very long metro ride home and here we are 11 o'clock no matter what we do we can't get home before 11 o'clock LOL hopefully tonight will be a better night of sleep until tomorrowwe love you all and thanks for caring!!  ❤️❤️😘
