Day 3 Louvre Day and Kitchen Store Shopping!

We woke up, got moving and after a quick breakfast and some coffee we headed toward the Louvre. Whenever the Louvre is on the schedule we know it’s going to be a long hard day. The Louvre is massive!  Even just doing the highlights tour is still mentally and physically exhausting!  But we did it and we all made it through. I think we all learned a lot and were thoroughly entertained by the incredible art and history we experienced today. In the pictures, if you’ve followed our blog in the past, I again have a big dose of Winged Victory. I’ve seen it many times now, and it still sends chills up my spine each time I see it!  Sherri got an amazing panorama of the Mona Lisa, no small feat with the crazy crowds around it at all time. BRAVO Sherri!!  It always amazes me how different pieces of art speak to me each time I walk through the Louvre. You just never know which one will force you to stop and ponder for a bit longer than you ever have. For me The Raft of The Medusa by Delacroix was that painting this time. You feel the emotion that each person was feeling in that dark, epic painting. I love it. Anyway, we finished up the long journey through the Louvre and decided to head to the greatest kitchen supply store, E Dehillerin. A store that’s been open since 1820. Justin from La Cuisine Paris told us we absolutely HAD to go there and was shocked we haven’t been there before!  They have the best selection of copper cookware, baking products, pans, gadgets, knives and basically anything you’d need for your kitchen. Especially a commercial kitchen, but we all enjoyed walking through there. We bought a few special pans and molds for new items we will be making this winter at the shop, so stay tuned!  After we left there we went for a quick happy hour drink and snack before heading to the metro for a meal we had last year and really enjoyed at a burger place way away from the touristy parts of Paris.  It’s a place that we love because the food is great, and because it’s a great test of our skills using the metro system. Dinner was fantastic!  The journey was great!  And all in all, it was a really nice day!  Tomorrow we get to spend the day in our neighborhood in the Marais and then spend the evening in Montmartre!  Stay tuned and enjoy the journey with us!!  😁
