Day 6 Chilly Weather, Musee D’Orsay and our last day in Paris

We slept in a little this morning and it turned out to be extra because Daylight Savings time was last night in France!  Lucky us, we get to fall back twice this year!! LOL  We were all pretty rested after yesterday’s hard day and we decided to do the Musee D’Orsay, the impressionist museum, basically the art between the French Revolution and Modern Art. It’s a very large place in an old train station. Very cool building!  We started off having brunch in the cafe in the museum which was really nice!  Then we went through the maze of rooms to see the art. It is the art that speaks to me the most. I remember all the stories about each piece and love explaining them to people and getting them excited about them, like I am!  We got to see Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Rodin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renior, Degas and so many others!  So many of the paintings are recognizable to everyone. That always makes it fun, when you know a painting is famous but you have no idea why. I love putting those pieces together. After that we walked through the Tuileries Gardens and even though it was VERY windy and freezing cold outside, it still was beautiful!  We came back to the room and relaxed for a little while and then went for dinner.  This is one Emily and I were really looking forward to!  A place called My Noodle that we have been to each time we have come to Paris!  It’s a Chinese restaurant where The owner hand pulls noodles in the front of the shop. He makes it look just so easy!  They are amazingly delicious, with a nice chew and texture that your average Chinese noodle dish just doesn’t have. Their egg rolls are amazing, the dumplings are fantastic and those noodles are in soup and main dishes so we had plenty of them. We also found a new amazing item on the menu. They have these things that look like Crab Rangoon except they are with shrimp and don’t have that cream cheese filling. They were so delicious. They were fried so perfectly crisp!  BRAVO!  It was hard to get pictures of the food everyone was attacking it as soon as it got there!  But, I think we did a pretty good job of it!  Anyway, a great day all around and tomorrow we leave first thing for Avignon in Provence.  This is the first time the group is going to haul their luggage on the train and to the new apartments. We will see how that goes. Fortunately we all only took carryons so it shouldn’t be too bad, but you never know. Let’s hope we get better weather in Provence, but either way, it’s gonna be fun, interesting and an incredible journey!  Thanks for taking it with us!  It means so much to us to have you all reading our blog every day. We are very lucky people to have this little niche in such a wonderful place with such great people!  VIVA CHARLEVOIX!!!!
