Day 13 Pont Du Gard, Market visit and Emily's packing tips!

Today started with a trip to the indoor market in Avignon. It's Sunday on a Holiday weekend, its Armistice Day, and the place was PACKED!  We didn't take any pictures because it was so intense in there!  We realized as soon as we got home that, because it was so intense, we REALLY should have taken pictures!  They have amazing stuff in there. We were there to pick up something for breakfast, a picnic for our trip and also food to make for dinner. It being Sunday there aren't many places open here in Avignon to eat at. We accomplished it all. Emily got some great cheese, we got rotisserie chicken and potatoes cooked with the fat from the chicken dripping on them, YUM, a baguette of course, some soup, egg rolls, a couple of pastries. Very eclectic but yummy!  We then hopped in our sweet car and drove about 30 minutes to Pont Du Gard, a 2000 year old aquaduct built by the romans. It was the 2nd biggest thing they ever built, 6 feet shorter than the Colosseum in Rome!  It also has the biggest arch the romans ever built, 80 feet across. For those of you that aren't well-versed in Roman history, the romans were famous for arches. They used them to build all sorts of unreal things for their time!  And to see the biggest one is awesome. Check out the video we posted on Facebook and Instagram to see more. The best thing about that place is, it isn't just a site, it's a park on a river and it was GORGEOUS today!  About 70* and sunny as can be!  We had a great picnic on a rock on the side of the river with this huge aquaduct looming about 100 yards away. A truly magical experience and a magical day!!  After that, we drove back, rested for an hour, then had our delicious dinner!  I had a nice treat, I got to watch most of the Lions game using my Fathers Slingbox!  THANKS DAD!!  Hey, they were playing in prime time here 6 hours ahead! LOL  it was a great day! We love days like this!  Now, as promised, here's Emily with packing tips!
