Day 5 Finally jet lag is over!!!

We finally had a good nights sleep PHEW!!  We did sleep later than we would've liked but we've earned it!  We decided today that we would  focus on our tour guide skill for next year and we went to Sainte Chapelle one of our favorite churches. We will have a lot of pictures that we look like the ones we took last year but when you're in a place like Sainte Chapelle it looks amazing from every angle and you can't help but take picture after picture after picture. Then we finally made it to Angelina's for hot chocolate WOW!!!  It's so thick rich and luscious it was really fantastic!  Highly recommended!  And a hearty thank you to our customers that recommended it to us!!  After that we went to the Louvre.  We wanted to make sure we knew our way around it VERY well.  It was a success, we are very pleased.  The Louvre is massive, it's impossible to do it all in one day nor would you want to see everything!  The key is to hit all of the really important parts and we feel like we have a good grasp on that. After the Louvre we took a short rest at our home before going out and exploring a whole new area of Paris with our new found super confidence in the metro system.  We decided to find a very highly rated restaurant on TripAdvisor anywhere in the city whatever sounded good to us. We found a restaurant that specializes in cheeseburgers way out of the tourist area.  It was rated the 10th best restaurant of 18,000 in Paris we were intrigued as it was the highest rated restaurant we have ever been to in Paris!  We hopped on a metro and took a long ride to a part of Paris few tourists ever find. It lived up to its reviews!  They use special beef and do very little to it but season it and cook it to perfection put it on an amazing brioche bun with a cheddar cheese sauce on it and some caramelized onions cooked in balsamic vinegar. WOW what a great burger. It goes to show if you know the metro the skies the limit and also in a city like Paris you can find great food of any kind and that is something Emily and I really like to take advantage of. Also, being the only tourist in a crowded restaurant makes you feel extra smart and special!!  You can't eat French food every night!  After that we took the metro home and learned a valuable lesson. Emily typically throws her ticket away after using it so it doesn't get mixed up with the ones that haven't been used. Well this time there were Police waiting at the exit of the metro station asking for your validated tickets. I had mine but unfortunately Emily didn't have hers and we had to pay a €50 fine!!  FIFTY EURO!!! we were mad as hell but they wouldn't budge so we paid the €50 so we could leave, chalked it up as a lesson learned, stewed for a little while and then went in the Marais for some amazing gelato shaped into a rose. I've always said you can't be angry or unhappy when you're eating ice cream or gelato for that matter. It brightened our moods fortunately. We made it home at 9:30 GO US!!!!  Tomorrow is our last full day in Paris until our very last day of the trip. It promises to be a good one, as they all should be!!  Until then we love you and thank you for reading our blog.
