Day 9 A lazy, rainy, cold day in Colmar!

Well today was what they call a lazy day!  It was very cold and rainy all day, which of course takes away a lot of your sightseeing motivation.  Of course Emily and I did a tremendous amount of walking today to see the city and get a feel for where we are. Colmar is a beautiful city!  Its much bigger than it looks. We walked all around, went to the museum honoring the man who sculpted the Statue of Liberty, who happens to be from Colmar and went into two beautiful churches!  We saw one truly spectacular altarpiece, but really it was just a lazy day.  We ended up just walking around and snacking all day long!  There are so many shops with delicious looking things!  There is temptation everywhere and me especially, I'm not very good at avoiding that temptation. so yes, there were more pretzels, eating more of the apple cake that you see everywhere in Alsace and every piece I've had is amazing!  If I lived here I'd be twice the size I am now!  But we had a lot of fun just walking around to various stores picking out things to bring home for dinner tonight.  We found some really amazing ice cream!  We didn't feel like going out again so we sort of grazed. We bought a Tart Flambee here, an onion tart there. We found French bagels that were pretty darn good, more pretzels of course and those delicious cookies!!  You know, the ones that come in those blue tins that people give you around the holidays?  Well, they make them here for real and they are way better than the ones we get in those tins!!  So not a lot of interesting things to say for the day but we got some good pictures and we had a blast, as we always do together and tonight we're going to finish watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix.  So, a pretty normal night, not necessarily a normal night of traveling but a normal night. Tomorrow is our last day in Colmar. We only have a few sites left to see so I don't expect us to get a lot done tomorrow either. But I think we will walk around more and take in this gorgeous city!!  It really is beautiful!  Have a wonderful day and we will have a wonderful night and will have more to report tomorrow!
